Embrace God’s unconditional love

Why does God love you so much? You may think because you are the most righteous, the most beautiful, the wealthiest or perhaps you are the most perfect.

You might be all the nice things, but God loves you so much, simply because you are His child. You have already been chosen and you are loved.

Love is a special feeling that keeps people bounded to one another. By human nature, we are bound to feel the need to love and to be loved.

1Corinthians 13:13 tells us that love is the greatest power on Earth: “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”

God’s love for us amazes me because no matter how much we sin, He is always ready to give us a second chance. I call it grace because in a way, it never runs out.

His arms are always open to us when we repent and turn away from sin. The fact that you are still alive amidst the Covid-19 pandemic and all the hardships that you have gone through, is proof that you are loved with the everlasting love of God.

Human love
In most cases, human love depends on what one has to give and get. It is conditional, and this tends to disappoint us because we get less than what we expect to get.

In Matthew 7: 7-11, God compares worldly love to His unconditional love. In John 3:16, the Bible says God loved us first when He sent His son Jesus Christ to save us from sin.

Who in their right mind would give up their own son to die for sinners? No human being is capable of this. I can only imagine, but I know that would be difficult for most of us to do.

Nothing will separate us from God’s love
God gives His people an assurance in Romans 8 that nothing will ever separate us from His love.

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor any creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8: 38-39).

What more can we ask for from God? We are loved freely and unconditionally.

Am just amazed by this love! God’s love is perfect, that He never gives up on us even after sinning. His mercies for us will never come to an end.

God’s love grows sweeter and sweeter with time. His love is enough for us.

If He is able to feed the birds in the air, then how about you, His own child, how much blessings do you think He will shower unto you?

Remember the one who does not love, does not know God, for God is love. Just as He loves us, let us love our neighbors, too.
