In Genesis 1 where the creation of the world is mentioned, God starts with the creation of light.
He spoke light into existence before other things.
The importance of this is not merely one of precedence (what comes after what), but chronological existence (how whatever lives, lives).
Light is one of the paramount needs in our daily life and operation in this world.
Agriculturalists need light for their crops to do well, theatre artistes need light for photography, and all of us need light for seeing and knowing.
Light appears to be the source of everything that has a form.
It is, therefore, impossible for life and functionality to exist on this Earth without light.
This is because light is not just a guiding principle of living here, but the energy for every life and living.
To those in the darkness of sin, this month God says: LET THERE BE LIGHT.
