Looks like Solomon Kampala, the son to musician-turned-politician, and National Unity Platform (NUP) principal, Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) is on the path to making Uganda proud!

On March 17, 2023, he was among the youth that took part in the Ultimate Race Nights in Dubai.

He finished third in the 200-meter race and earned his first bronze medal ever in his sporting career.

The new kid on the block took to his social media to express his delight before promising to accrue more victories in the future.

“First of many medals to come! 200m bronze in Ultimate athletics UAE race night. Much more work to come too,” he wrote.

However, just like any other sports where some qualification is called for, Kampala returned to business back home in April and was among the 5 athletes who took part in National athletics trials at Namboole in the men’s 200m and finished in fourth position.

Unfortunately, he failed to qualify to the next round, but without a doubt, the future looks brighter and who knows?

He could follow in the footsteps of the likes of Joshua Cheptegei, Jacob Kiplimo, to mention but a few.

Kampala finished third in the 200-meter race and earned his first bronze medal ever in his sporting career.
