Celebrated award-winning Gospel artiste, Kirk Franklin, is set to release a new video of his international hit from the late 1990s ‘Lean on Me’ with six Ugandan youths who are part of an International choir comprising youths from 25 countries.

This is part of renowned global Christian NGO, Compassion International’s child development program-Youth Choir project.

Over the past several months, Franklin has worked with this group of 120 youth from over 25 participating countries through virtual rehearsals and recording to pull off this grand project.

According to Kakama, an 18 year old from Ntungamo district in Western Uganda and one of the six youths from Uganda who featured, it was a great honour for him to work with the celebrated Gospel star Kirk Franklin.

“I am delighted I was given this opportunity by Compassion International to be among the six youth to represent my country in this great project with other talented youth from across the globe, it surely is a dream-come-true for me,” he said.

The proceeds from this new video and recording of ‘Lean on Me’ which was first released in 1998 will be donated to Compassion International by the Record Companies ‘For Yo Soul Entertainment’, RCA Records and Kirk Franklin for the NGO’s various projects across the over 25 countries it operates in.
