Christian leaders, under their umbrella organisation, Uganda Jubilee Network have called upon Ugandans to partake in 50 days of prayer and fasting, focusing on the country’s education sphere.

The fasting began on August 19, 2022, and will end on October 7, 2022.

Prior to the announcement, the members of the Uganda Jubilee Network held a meeting with the Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataha Museveni on August 16, 2022 to discuss the program.

Mrs Museveni commended the network’s decision, as pure responsibility over young people, who lack knowledge of God.

“We’ve been praying for the education sector for as long as we‘ve been here and everything that has happened in these years has been due to prayer. God is faithful, He listens,” she said.

Dr James Magara, the Chairman of Uganda Jubilee Network, the initiative will run under the theme, “Laying New Foundations for the Education Sphere and the Next Generation”, based on Isaiah 58:12.

He called upon the Body of Christ to participate and added that following the National Jubilee celebrations in 2012, a decision was made to observe the 50 days before the celebration of Independence Day, as a season of prayer and fasting.

Uganda Jubilee Network’s mission is to disciple Uganda in the ways of God, by accelerating the fulfillment of the great commission
