We start on this new study series looking at how God has committed Himself, from the foundation of the Earth, to take care of all our needs, spiritually, physically and materially.

For almost one year now since Good News was launched, we have looked at God’s provision in terms of meeting our daily physical needs such as food and finances. We have looked at several scriptures and testimonies that confirm God’s unending care about our daily needs.

In case you are just joining us, kindly call our office to get you old copies free of charge so you can see what we have written about God’s providences in all areas of your life. We are now going to look at healing as one of the provisions you and I need to enjoy as part of our spiritual inheritance.

Healing is children’s bread

As a child in an ordinary house has a right to open the fridge and get any stuff she or he wants, so do you and I have this privilege to open God’s treasure house and get healing for our bodies when we fall sick.

In the same token, there are lots of vaccines in this storehouse of God that will prevent us from falling sick, getting accidents, getting cancers or developing any of those 39 common diseases that Jesus died for. You will recall that Jesus was given those lashes by the chief priest on His way to the cross.

It is well known among Bible scholars that each one of those lashing tools contained 39 strips of metal embedded on leather for maximum trauma to the recipient. This represents 39 common diseases known to man. Isaiah says: “By His stripes we are healed.” This means Jesus has already paid the price for you and me.

We just need to say “Jesus I receive my healing” based on this Word of God. The first example we are going to take is the healing of this woman who had a problem the Bible describes as an issue of blood or hemorrhage.

The woman with menorrhagia

As a medical doctor and specialist in gynecology, this is a very familiar issue I deal with daily. I treat women with the problem of excessive menstrual fl ow or menorrhagia, as we call it in medical terms. As I write this article, a few days back I removed a very big tumor (fibroid) from a 30-year-old young woman.

These multiple fibroids were so big that people thought she was pregnant and about to deliver a baby. Years passed, yet the so-called ‘baby’ was not born! This not only caused her immense embarrassment, but she also lost opportunities for potential suitors that could have married her.

Whenever she went to see a doctor, the answer was always the same: “You will need to have your uterus removed.” When she eventually consulted me, I performed an operation on her. During the four-and-a-half hour surgical operation, we removed 30 fi broids and her uterus has been preserved.

I give God the glory that the operation went well and her uterus was not removed. She will now be able to bear children using her uterus. This is a great miracle that God has performed for her and her husband.

Bible woman with an issue of blood

This account was given by Doctor Luke, who followed Jesus very closely and reported many miracles in this book, possibly more than other writers of the Gospel.

Luke, also the writer of the book of Acts, gave his accounts of miracles throughout the whole books of Acts of Apostles. It is typical of all of us doctors to report healing.

Luke 8:43-48 (KJV): “And a woman having an issue of blood 12 years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, came behind Him, and touched the border of His garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched… And He said unto her, ‘daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace’.”

This woman had visited many doctors with no help; she run out of money. When she came to the end of the road, she took courage and came to Jesus. I am sure she had heard about Jesus before, but kept visiting her doctors.

It was only until she run out of money; possibly her husband had left her, that she started looking for Jesus. Traditionally, women who were menstruating were not supposed to touch or shake hands with a man.

She took courage and came to Jesus and touched the hem of His garment. Immediately a miracle happened! Whoever is reading this article, you need to take courage and seek God, touch Jesus’ hem and receive healing as this woman did.

Yours might be a different issue, but with God nothing is impossible. Everything you are trying without Jesus’ touch will go through the drain. Pray thus: “Lord Jesus, I come to you like this woman who touched the hem of your garment.

I receive healing now for the sickness that I have. I receive you as my Saviour.” If you have prayed like this, you are automatically a daughter or son in the family of Jesus
